Jackson memorabilia in controversial auction

Los Angeles, April 6 - Some of the most famous memorabilia items from the career of Michael Jackson are going up for auction - if the reclusive singer fails in a legal bid to stop the sale.
New York's Guernsey's auction house says the 2,000-piece collection includes Jackson's trademark black fedora and the gold record for his 'Thriller' album.
Also among the items to be sold on May 30-31 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas are handwritten lyrics for The Jackson Five hit ABC and a Victory Tour programme signed by Jackson family members.
The celebrity treasure trove is part of a 10,000-piece collection of Jackson family items, bought in a bankruptcy sale and later sold to Florida-based delivery company Universal Express. The items were originally placed by Jackson in a warehouse near his fantasy California retreat in Neverland and were apparently sold off following a failed business venture.
Jackson's representative Raymone Bain said that he was considering taking legal action to halt the sale.
'Mr. Jackson was not aware, and he is extremely upset that his memorabilia was included amongst the memorabilia that is being auctioned off,' Bain said.
