Toronto, May 16 - An Indo-Canadian teenager, who went missing last week is still untraced, and his sister has blamed the police for inaction.

Daljit Sandhu, 19, disappeared over the weekend in British Columbia - after his car plunged into a river speeding away from a routine police road check Saturday.

Later, the car was pulled out of water and police recovered 170 marijuana plants from it, reported News1130, a local radio station.

'Nothing is being done...you know and we don't understand why no one is doing anything. We go everywhere, we talk to everyone, and we get doors slammed on our face. We just want people to look for him. The sad thing is, being an Indo-Canadian male, people assume things, but he's not like that,' an upset Daljit's sister, Jasmine said.

Meanwhile, Royal Canadian Mounted Police - constable Annie Linteau said at least 20 people searched the area immediately after Daljit drove into the river. 'RCMP divers have also since assessed the river and found it to be extremely dangerous.'

Linteau added that it doesn't mean we have stopped looking for Daljit. She said police are using other methods, like bank and phone records, to track him down.
