By Xinhua,
[RxPG] Dhaka, April 16 - The second son of Bangladesh's former prime minister Khaleda Zia was arrested early Monday, media reports here said.
Private TV channel ATN Bangla, however, did not mention the charges against Arafat Rahman, who used to maintain a relatively low profile in business circles.
A couple of hours before the arrest, top officials of the joint forces reportedly went to Zia's Dhaka Cantonment residence and had lengthy talks with her during which the officials advised her to leave the country, but she rejected their proposals, the Daily Star reported Monday.
Rahman's advertising firm, Advance AD, allegedly wiped its opponents out of the market, thanks to his family influence. It has been in control of the most lucrative advertisements spots in the city during the last five years.
Zia's elder son Tarique Rahman, who exercised maximum power from behind the scene and allegedly indulged in widespread corruption and kept money in foreign countries, was arrested March 8 on charges of corruption.
