[RxPG] Dhaka, March 11 - Noted Bangladeshi actress Rosy, who had starred in Indian filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak's classic 'Teetas Ekti Nadir Naam', is no more. She was 60.
The actress, who had featured in over 200 films in a career spanning over four decades, died Friday of kidney failure at Birdem Hospital in the city.
'Teetas Ekti Nadir Naam', made in the mid-1970s, won international critical acclaim, long after Ghatak's death in 1976.
A prolific actress of a period that is often referred to as the 'golden era' of Bangladeshi cinema, Rosy is best remembered for her roles in films like 'Shurjo Grahan', 'Shurjo Shangram' and 'Jibon Thekey Neya.'

After starting her film career in 1964 with 'Eito Jibon', Rosy appeared in a major role in Zahir Raihan's 'Sangam' in the same year, the first colour feature film made in Pakistan of which Bangladesh was the eastern wing.
