New Delhi, March 15 - Bahrain's Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa comes to India on a four-day visit Monday that is set to firm up ties between the two countries.

'The visit is expected to substantially strengthen bilateral ties and enhance the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries,' the external affairs ministry said while announcing the crown prince's visit on Thursday night.

Al Khalifa, who is visiting the country at the invitation of Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, will inaugurate Bahrain's embassy in Delhi and address a select gathering at the Indian Council for World Affairs.

The crown prince, who comes here on his first visit to India with senior ministers and a business delegation, also goes to Agra and Mumbai.

The focus of the visit is on enhancing business and investment between India and Bahrain - home to over a 250,000-strong diaspora.

India-Bahrain bilateral trade was estimated to be around $575 million in 2005, with Indian exports being $157 million and imports $418 million.
