HCL Tech registers growth, bags six major deals

New Delhi, April 17 - Indian IT major HCL Technologies Ltd registered 44 percent increase in its revenues at $362.40 million and bagged six multi-million dollar deals in the quarter ending March 31, it announced here Tuesday.

'Global business trends, with a re-emergence of disruptive technologies and new business models suggest very exciting times. We are on a firm footing to capitalise on these trends and uniquely shape the future,' said Shiv Nadar, chairman and CEO, HCL Technologies.

During the quarter, the company signed six major deals of which five large transformational ones are in the range of $25-50 million each and one is valued at over $50 million.

Four of them are in the hi-tech and manufacturing segment while two are in financial services.

'We have achieved execution differentiation by completing major execution milestones in all our large transformational multi-service deals,' said Vineet Nayar, president, HCL Technologies.

During the quarter the company offered jobs for 1,832 people, reaching an employee base of 40,149 globally.

The company currently has three special economic zones - - in Noida near Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore - and it has plans to expand in Nagpur.
