Thiruvananthapuram, May 7 - Vail Resorts, Inc. -, the premier mountain resort operator in the US, has chosen IBS IT solutions firm Tour PartnerTM here to integrate and upgrade its reservations system.

Currently, half a dozen systems are used to accommodate the diverse types of products sold by VRI - from lift tickets to vacation packages.

Vail Resorts, Inc. owns and operates five major ski resorts in the US. The company's subsidiaries operate the mountain resorts of Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado, Heavenly Resort in California and Nevada and the Grand Teton Lodge Company in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Scott Gustlin, director of marketing technology, VRI, said they zeroed in on Tour PartnerTM after an extensive search for a single reservations application system to integrate its inventory with.

'With this application, our plans to streamline operations across many of our diverse business units will be addressed,' he said.

According to V.K. Mathews, chairman and managing director, IBS Group, said: 'Vail Resort Inc.'s selection of IBS' TourPartner product for managing their central reservations and booking process indicates the confidence that customers have in our ability to provide state-of-the-art IT solutions to the travel and transportation industries.

'Recognition by a firm of such eminence is a major achievement for the IBS Group, and we are committed to making this relationship a rewarding one for both the companies,' said Mathews.

The new Vail Resorts Central Reservations System is scheduled to go live in time for next winter's ski season.
