Apr 29, 2007 - 8:12:46 PM

Mumbai, April 29 - Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh's two-year-old movie 'Dosar', a chronicle of a crumbling marriage, has been selected for the 60th Cannes Film Festival in the Les Cinema Du Monde section.

Ghosh will be accompanied by cinematographer Aveek Sarkar for the screening.

'Aveek did the black-and-white photography of 'Dosar', and he's the true hero of the film,' Ghosh told IANS.

Devoted to filtering the best of world cinema, Les Cinema Du Monde - brings auteur cinema from the world under one umbrella.

'The last time I participated at Cannes was for 'Chokher Bali'. I've never participated in the Du Monde section. Funnily, I've made three films after 'Dosar'. But 'Dosar' is my last-released film. In fact, next year I think I'll spend all my time doing post-production. I've 'Khela' and 'Sunglass' ready for release. And I've just started editing 'The Last Lear'.'

'Dosar', which stars the talented Konkona Sen Sharma and superstar of Bengali films Prosenjit Chatterjee, will be screened at Cannes on May 20.
