Patna, May 9 - Six-year-old Ankit, abducted nearly a month ago from here, has been killed, his abductor confessed Wednesday.

Even though his body is yet to be discovered, police officials said Ankit's abductor Balram Paswan, arrested from Siwan, confessed that he killed Ankit on the day of the abduction itself.

'Balram Paswan, who worked as a domestic at Ankit's house, confessed that he murdered Ankit and buried him on the banks of Ganges in Chapra district,' said Sanjay Singh, the superintendent of police in Chapra district.

Ankit, a kindergarten student, was abducted April 12 from outside St. Paul's School in Gaighat locality. His father, Manoj Kumar Gope, is a small-time businessman who also runs a beauty parlour.

Police sources said the police were combing the area near the riverbanks in Chapra to recover the body. They have found Ankit's pant. Last month, the police had discovered his school bag in Chapra.

More than 900 people have been abducted across Bihar in the first three months this year in Bihar.
