Dunga denies 'punishing' Ronaldinho

Rio de Janeiro, Nov 24 - Brazilian national soccer coach Dunga denied having 'punished' Barcelona star Ronaldinho when he excluded him from the starting line-up for last week's friendly game against Switzerland in Basle.

'We have 22 players, all of them fit to be in the starting line-up. But everything depends on the moment. I did not question Ronaldinho's quality, but everyone has to look for his space,' Dunga said with reference to the gifted player's recent poor performance with the national team.

The coach indicated in a press conference in Rio de Janeiro that Ronaldinho usually does not stand out as much with Brazil's yellow shirt as he does with Spanish giants Barcelona.

'We have to find a way for Ronaldinho to show with the national team the same performance that he has with Barcelona. We are looking for alternatives,' the coach said.

Ronaldinho last scored for Brazil in the final of the Confederations Cup in Germany in June 2005.
