Failing in love, eunuch attempts suicide in Bhopal

Bhopal, Feb 18 - In a bizarre incident, a eunuch in love with a local boy made an abortive bid to commit suicide for being left by the latter.
According to police, the eunuch, Syed Ali, better known as Kajal, a resident of Budhwara locality, Saturday inflicted injuries on his neck and hand with a sharp weapon in a bid to end his life for having failed in love with local boy Shiraj.
Budhwara locality in Bhopal is inhabited by scores of eunuchs and is also known as 'kinnar mohalla' - in local parlance.
'Kajal was in love with Shiraj for a long time. Earlier, Shiraj also adored her and both used to go out often. But all hell broke loose when Shiraj came to know of Kajal's gender and stopped meeting her. Since then Kajal used to remain upset. She made several attempts to meet Shiraj but all in vain,' said Neelam, another eunuch, who rushed Kajal to a district hospital.
'We came out of our rooms hearing cries of Kajal, broke open the doors of her room and saw her bleeding profusely. We took her to the hospital where she was given first aid,' Neelam told IANS here Saturday.
Police have registered a case of attempt to commit suicide against Kajal.
