Chandigarh, March 22 - The son of Moninder Singh Pandher, an accused in the killings at Nithari in Noida, Thursday said that the family's stand that Moninder was not involved in the serial killings had been vindicated as the Central Bureau of Investigation - virtually gave a clean chit to his father.

The CBI Thursday said in New Delhi that there was no evidence to suggest that Moninder was involved with his domestic servant Surendra Koli in the ghastly killing of children in their house in Noida.

The investigating agency stated that Koli had confessed to killing 16 children and women.

'We were saying right from the beginning that he - could not have killed innocent children. It is unfortunate that the killings took place in that house. But I was sure that he could not be behind all these,' Karan Singh Pandher told reporters at his Sector 27 residence here.

Karan, however, said he felt bad for the deaths of the innocent children.

About the other charges of immoral activities like bringing prostitutes to home and suppressing evidence against his father, Karan said that was something that the CBI could investigate.
