[RxPG] Jaipur, Aug 2 - Fortis Healthcare Ltd, one of the largest private healthcare companies in India, Thursday announced a multi-speciality hospital here as part of its initiative to expand its operations in Rajasthan.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the Fortis Escorts Hospital Jaipur - in the presence of Malvinder Mohan Singh, chairman, Fortis Healthcare, Shivinder Mohan Singh, CEO and MD, Fortis and Escorts Heart, besides other dignitaries and company officials.

'Healthcare of people is crucial to the development of a state. I am very pleased that Fortis Healthcare has set up a hospital in Jaipur,' Raje said.

Spread over 6.68 acres with an investment of Rs.1.10 billion, the 165-bed facility will focus on cardiac sciences, neurosciences, renal sciences and gastrointestinal diseases.

Besides, the hospital will also provide services in mother and childcare, orthopaedics and a complete range of multi-specialty services in all disciplines.

FEHJ will have dedicated facilities for comprehensive care of trauma patients and others in need of emergency care including an emergency operation theatre - and a 10-bedded medical intensive care unit -.

According to Malvinder Singh, Brand Fortis is recognised for offering clinical excellence with a patient-centric approach.

'It's our vision to grow rapidly to fulfil the significant gap in the delivery of high quality healthcare to the people of our country. The launch of Fortis Escorts Hospital in Jaipur is a significant milestone in that direction,' he said.

Shivinder Singh, who was also present, said: 'Fortis Healthcare is committed to provide high quality medical care at affordable prices. We are delighted at this opportunity to serve the people of Rajasthan. This launch is going to play an important role in our endeavour to become the country's leading private healthcare provider'.
