Provide proforma on swine flu to passengers, airlines told

The international airports where screening is being conducted are Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Varanasi, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Srinagar, Trichy and Thiruvananthapuram.

New Delhi, May 13 - India' aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation -, Wednesday asked all airlines operating on international routes to provide passengers with the official proforma on swine flu.
The DGCA said airlines have to inform passengers arriving from countries affected by swine flu about the need to screen them, and the initiatives the carriers have taken in this regard.
'All persons coming to India from countries which have reported human cases of swine flu such as USA, Mexico, Canada, Austria, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, Spain and Britain will be required to fill up this proforma,' the DGCA said in a statement.
Indian authorities have so far screened 340,000 people coming to the country from the flu-affected countries. According to health authorities, about 180 doctors and 102 paramedics have been deployed to man 72 counters at 21 airports.
The international airports where screening is being conducted are Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Varanasi, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Srinagar, Trichy and Thiruvananthapuram.
Meanwhile, drug manufacturer Cipla Wednesday informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that its oseltamivir 75 mg capsules, marketed as 'Antiflu', has been included in the World Health Organisation's list of 'prequalified medicinal products' to treat swine flu.
