By IANS, [RxPG] Chandigarh, Dec 29 - Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Tuesday asked officials to examine the feasibility of adopting the Tamil Nadu healthcare model in the state to ensure better procurement of high quality medicines and equipment.
The review committee, which was constituted by Badal in 2007, assigned the work of detailed study of health institutions working under the Punjab Health System Corporation -, in the 10 districts of the state, to the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare -, New Delhi.
'The main objective of this exercise is to enhance the quality of healthcare at the secondary level so as to provide effective referral and linkage with primary health care institutions and service providers,' said the state spokesperson here Tuesday evening.
