The award-winning Emma’s Diary, a step-by-step pregnancy guide, produced by The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) has been updated and re-styled. The new Emma’s Diary is a glossy, handbag sized publication which is split into clearly defined sections; prenatal features, the Diary, the Medical File, and postnatal features.

Emma’s Diary is published by the RCGP in association with Lifecycle Marketing and is given free to expectant mothers by GPs and midwives at the beginning of pregnancy. It provides healthcare information and advice, written in the form of a diary by first time mum, Emma. The diary provides a realistic guide to pregnancy with Emma talking about her experiences – everything from the joy of discovering she’s pregnant and having to cope with morning sickness right through to the day of the baby’s birth.

The Medical File acts as an easy reference, guiding readers through each trimester and is backed up by in-depth articles covering important subjects such as Avoiding Risks, Healthy Eating and What happens in Labour and Birth. Postnatal articles cover the subjects that concern new mum’s the most such as feeding, changing and how they can expect to feel.

Dr Mayur Lakhani, Chairman of the RCGP, said: “Emma’s Diary has become a well established publication which provides essential information in a user friendly manner. I know that is popular with health care professionals who will welcome this new edition to support their clinical care.”
