Intravenous Fluids, Sets And Injections Airlifted To Quake Affected Areas

The Minister for Health and Family Welfare in India, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss who is keeping a close watch on the situation, today reviewed the emergency Medical Relief Operations.

The Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today airlifted Rs. 30 lakh worth Intravenous fluids, sets and injections for relief in the quake-affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Orders have already been placed for immediate procurement and supply of emergency medicines, equipment, consumables etc. worth about Rs. 4 crore, as requested by the State Government. The DG, Health Services is in constant touch with the State authorities to know their requirements and provide necessary assistance.
The Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss who is keeping a close watch on the situation, today reviewed the emergency Medical Relief Operations. The Control Room set up in the Health Ministry is working round-the-clock to coordinate and monitor relief activities. The 30-member Rapid Response Team of Doctors and Surgeons constituted by the Health Ministry is keeping stand-by and another team from AIIMS, has also been put on alert.
10,000 blankets provided by the Indian Red Cross Society has been airlifted. Another 10,000 blankets are ready for airlift. The Red Cross is also arranging 1,400 tents to be airlifted to the affected areas.
