The Food Standards Agency announced today that a further three products have been confirmed to contain spices contaminated with Para Red, an illegal dye.

The products have been withdrawn from sale by the companies concerned.

They are:

* Discovery Salsa Wrap 'n' Roll 340g pack with use-by dates of 13 May, 16 May and 21 May 2005

* Discovery Taco Seasoning 30g seasoning packet with best before date of March 2008

* Iceland Ready Cooked Sliced Chicken Tikka Strips 200g packs with use-by dates from 6 May up to and including 10 May 2005 and also 13 May 2005

This brings the total number of food products identified as being contaminated with para red to 69. The updated list of affected products can be found at www.food.gov.uk/parared.

The Agency's advice to consumers remains the same. At the levels found, the risk from eating any of these foods is very small, but as a precaution it would be sensible not to eat them.

These latest products were from the same source of contaminated ingredients supplied to UK companies by Spanish company Ramon Sabater and highlighted in recent releases.
