People-to-people contact can resolve Pakistan-India issues: Shujaat

[RxPG] Islamabad, April 23 - People-to-people contact and visits of parliamentarians could pave the way for solution of basic problems between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League - president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain told a delegation of Indian MPs here Monday.
'The enhanced people-to-people contacts are eliminating distances between the two neighbouring countries,' Online news agency quoted Hussain as saying.
Federal Minister for Information Muhammad Ali Durrani and Minister for Health Naseer Khan among others were also present on the occasion.
Hussain said the relations between the two neighbours had improved since they started talks aiming at resolving basic issues including Kashmir.
'We want the two countries to resolve the lingering issues peacefully,' he said adding that the ongoing composite dialogue process was the best option before them.
The PML leader urged India to respond positively to President Pervez Musharraf's proposals on Kashmir.
The MPs from both countries underlined the need for carrying forward confidence building measures and also urged for relaxation in the visa policy of the two countries.
