Parliament adjourned over Gujarat killings

New Delhi, May 7 - The issue of staged police killings in Gujarat rocked both houses of parliament Monday, forcing them to be adjourned for an hour.
Soon after the houses assembled, members belonging to the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and Left parties were on their feet vehemently protesting against the fake police killings in Gujarat.
Repeated appeals for order by the presiding officers fell on deaf ears, forcing them to adjourn the houses till noon.
Immediately after Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee welcomed a Cuban parliamentary delegation, Ramjilal Suman -, Mohammed Salim - and Madhusudan Mistry - raised the issue of the police killings in the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Gujarat.
When repeated pleas for restoring order failed to pacify members, Chatterjee adjourned the house.
Similarly, the Rajya Sabha too witnessed noisy scenes, forcing chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat to suspend business.
Three police officials are accused of killing Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kausar Bi. The police are now looking for her remains near the house of arrested deputy inspector of police D.G. Vanjhara.
