Indian boxers bag three silvers in King's Cup

New Delhi, April 11 - Indian men boxers have bagged three silvers and a bronze in the 29th King's Cup Boxing championship in Bangkok.

In the finals Tuesday, Jitender Kumar, Narjit Singh and Vijender failed to knock out their opponents and had to settle for the silver medals. Semi-finalist Dinesh Kumar bagged the bronze, according to a statement.

In the 51 kg category, Jitender lost to Thai Somjit Jongjor, who was also adjudged the 'Best Boxer of the Championship'.

Singh's contest with Kazakh Abutalipov Kanat in the 54 kg category had to be stopped by the referee after the Indian fell way behind on point difference. In the 75 kg category, Vijender lost on points to Asian Games gold medallist Rasulov Elshod of Uzbekistan.

Dinesh bagged the bronze after losing to Abdurrahmanov Sherzod of Uzbekistan in the 81 kg category in the pre-summit clash.

Hosts Thailand retained the Team Championship. Uzbekistan was the runners-up.
