[RxPG] Washington, May 17 - Bob Bradley was named head coach of the US men's national football team, a job he has been holding temporarily since December.
Bradley has won three games and drawn one since taking over in December from Bruce Arena, who was the most tenured of any coach in last summer's World Cup in Germany.
'Bob Bradley has shown every one in the past few months just how ready he is for this job,' US football federation president Sunil Gulati said at a press conference here Wednesday.
Bradley has shown a penchant for using younger players on the squad in the run-up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and said Wednesday that one of his next tasks would be to build a stronger sense of team spirit in his players.
'Everybody has a different style as a coach,' Bradley said. 'The work throughout this year has established a good foundation and instilled in the players the ideas that we need to carry with us in order to progress as a team.'
Bradley, 49, has already had a long coaching career in Major League Soccer - US football's professional league - winning more matches than any other manager and leading Chicago Fire to the league title in 1998.
