[RxPG] Mumbai, May 8 - First it was Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'. Now Irrfan Khan's three-and-a-half-year-old son Ayaan makes an appearance as his dad's son in Anurag Basu's 'Life In A... Metro', releasing Friday.

'Ayaan was never meant to be in 'Metro'. But then, look at destiny. The boy who was supposed to play Konkona Sen and my son began to cry during the shot. I decided on an impulse to call my son,' Irrfan told IANS.

There was a special reason why the versatile actor consented to let his son make such an early screen debut.

'The scene had Konkona and me on a motorbike with the child. My son had been pestering me for a bike ride. Since I don't own a bike, this was my opportunity to make one of Ayaan's little wishes come true.

'It's just a shot and only because Ayaan is as passionate about bikes as John Abraham. Our director really made it easy for us.'

The film dealing with the complexities of lives in a metropolitan city also stars Kay Kay Menon, Shiney Ahuja, Shilpa Shetty, Sharman Joshi and Kangana Ranaut.
