[RxPG] Kolkata, April 10 - Six days after the mysterious death of a doctor and his daughter in a West Bengal village, state Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Roy Tuesday ordered a Criminal Investigation Department - enquiry into the incident.

'I have already asked the state CID to start an investigation into the case. The CID officers will start a probe to determine whether the doctor actually committed suicide or he was murdered,' Roy said at the state secretariat Writers' Building.

Initial reports said Jayanta Bag, a gynaecologist, had strangled to death his nine-year-old daughter Tiasa, and tried to kill his wife Sutapa before committing suicide by slitting his throat after he was apparently caught taking nude pictures of a woman who had come to him for abortion.

The incident took place at Puila locality in Howrah district March 4.

Meanwhile, mystery surrounding the murder episode intensified as autopsy expert Harasit Sarkar earlier confirmed that Bag didn't commit suicide after killing his daughter but he was murdered along with the girl.

Sarkar said that injury marks on the doctor's body clearly suggested that some miscreants had grievously injured him.

Four people, including a woman, have already been arrested in connection with the doctor's murder.

'We have arrested four people including a woman and are now interrogating them. But one accused, Chandu Kole, is still absconding and efforts are on to arrest him,' said Howrah police superintendent N.K. Singh.

Singh earlier said that Bag was a victim of sexual depravity and reportedly used to take pictures of women during the process of voluntary termination of pregnancy.
