[RxPG] Kathmandu, Nov 24 - A parliamentary committee of the House of Representatives - in Nepal has approved a citizenship bill that will facilitate the distribution of citizenship certificates to thousands of people living in the country, The Rising Nepal said on Friday.
'The bill has been passed by the parliamentary committee as per the historic agreement' between the government and the Communist Party of Nepal -), said Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula.
Problems related to the citizenship would be solved within two months after the approval of the bill by the parliament, he added.
The committee expressed its confidence that the passage of the bill by the Nepali parliament would resolve the problem of citizenship that had become a subject of dispute in the country for a long time.

Under the bill, citizenship certificate would be provided on the basis of heredity, naturalisation and birth in Nepal.
