[RxPG] Mumbai, May 7 - A Mumbai court Monday directed the police to arrest Hasina Parkar, sister of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, by May 16 as she is wanted in a case of cheating and extortion.
Parkar is untraceable for more than a fortnight since the case was registered against her by the Anti-Extortion Cell.
Additional Sessions Judge A.V. Nirgude fixed the next date of hearing on May 16 and asked the police to arrest her by that time. The court was hearing an anticipatory bail application of Chandresh Shah, a builder and co-accused in the case.
This is for the first time, Hasinaappa, as she is known, is facing trouble from the law-enforcement machinery, though it is a known fact that she was under constant watch of various agencies after the serial blasts rocked Mumbai and Dawood's name figured among the top conspirators.
Parkar had allegedly demanded ransom from a city-based builder. In this case, two builders who allegedly had links with her have been arrested and are in police custody.
According to sources, at least five police teams have been formed to track down Parkar, who is said to be hiding in Maharashtra.
