Global Village fair to continue till May 4

The Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police - of Delhi Police has accorded permission to the organizers - DTTDC, NTBCL and E-4 Entertainment - to organise the fair on commercial basis.

[RxPG] New Delhi, April 24 - The Delhi High Court Tuesday permitted the ongoing Times Global Village fair on the Yamuna river-bed off Delhi-Noida toll bridge, organized by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation - to continue till May 4.
The permission to extend the fair, slated to end earlier on April 29, by five more days was granted by Justice B.D. Ahmed said.
The Noida Toll Bridge Company Limited - had filed a petition with the high court seeking direction to the authorities-for extending the fair till May 15.
Inspired by the success of Global Village in Dubai in 1995, the DTTDC in collaboration with the NTBCL had organised Global Village Delhi on the river bank since March 30, 2007.

Several Public Interest Petitions has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the government to wind up the fair on the yamuna river bed as it violated various provisions of the Environment Act.
