[RxPG] New Delhi, Nov 24 - Underlining India's rising stature on the global stage, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee Friday called for more international cooperation in combating the menace of terrorism.
'One of the most important changes that has come about is the way Indians see themselves. The change in the way the world sees India is even more remarkable,' said Mukherjee at the launch of a book 'Indian Foreign Policy: Challenges and Opportunities'.
Brought out by the Foreign Service Institute and published by Academic Foundation, the 1,149-page book has articles by leading diplomats and strategic thinkers on the challenges facing India's foreign policy in an evolving world order.
'We are keen to play our role and fulfil our responsibilities in the region and in the world at large and stand ready to cooperate with others in making the world a safer and more secure place,' the minister said.
He also underlined the dangers of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and stressed on achieving energy security for Indian economy, which is growing at a rate of eight percent - the world's fourth largest economy.
