[RxPG] New Delhi, April 16 - M.K. Kanimozhi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi's poet-activist daughter, made heads turn as she attended a recital of her poems in the national capital Monday evening.
Rendering the poems was noted Carnatic music singer O.S. Arun. Kanaka Srinivasan presented the poetic themes in dance form at the India Habitat Centre.
'He - has chosen one poem devoted to social issues and women, the other is a love song and the third is about nature's beauty,' Kanimozhi told IANS.
'They once held a programme in Chennai earlier, and this is the second time they are holding the recital -,' she said.
'They insisted I come and witness this programme,' said Kanimozhi, who is in her 30s.
The adoption of her poems for Carnatic recitals is a new development as she has a greater orientation towards folk music. She recently organised the Chennai Sangamam, a music festival devoted to folk music as distinct from the classical Carnatic music.
