'Kindle' is a dark thriller: Nitin Shingal

[RxPG] Mumbai, Nov 19 (IANS) The name Nitin Shingal may not instantly ring a bell, but the man has assisted top notch directors like Rajkumar Hirani ('Munnabhai MBBS'), Pradeep Sarkar ('Parineeta') and Kunal Kohli ('Fanaa').
After working with esteemed banners like Yash Raj Films and Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions, the aspiring filmmaker wanted to put up his vision and experience on celluloid and that's how 'Kindle' - the 20-minute short film starring Sushant Singh and Dipannita Sharma happened, reports Bollywood Trade.
Moreover, it is quite an achievement for a short film to be shot on 35mm format, since it is rare and a costly affair.
'I started working on the subject of 'Kindle' some two-three years ago. Since it was my first film I wanted to be sure of every shot I took. I did the story boarding for the entire film and it has shaped up the way I planned,' says Nitin, who did his MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi.
'Kindle', which means 'evoke' is not a mass film, he says candidly.
''Kindle' is a dark thriller mainly for the international audience. It's about a couple. Sushant is Partho Ganguly, a professor of history and Dipannita plays his loving, dutiful wife. Soon they are blessed with a kid followed by an intriguing climax, which shows what the mind is capable of, how small petty incidents can take a toll on human mind,' reveals Nitin.
Sharma is ecstatic since she has never done something like this before.
'I was bowled over by the script. Moreover, I have never done a short film so it was a new experience for me. I think Nitin has done a brilliant job as a newcomer,' feels the actor.
Singh echoes similar sentiments for Nitin. 'I think it's a good effort by Nitin. Technically he has handled it very well.'
