[RxPG] Agra, Nov 24 - In a grisly tale of a marriage gone sour, an unemployed man here allegedly decapitated his wife and son and then tried to commit suicide at the railway tracks, where he was found with his legs cut off.

Sanjeev Arora on Thursday night decided to end his life after years of tension of being without a job and estranged from his wife Sheela, who had filed for divorce as he beat her regularly.

Sanjeev, who was in deep depression, allegedly killed his wife and son by cutting off their throats with a knife after drugging them in their house in the middle-class Kidwai Park area. Police here said some powder had been mixed in food.

After that he changed out of his bloodstained clothes, wrote a suicide note - blaming his wife and her family -- and left for the railway station. It was around 2 a.m. when railway police informed their local counterparts that a man with both his legs cut by a goods train was lying on the track.

He was rushed to the SN Medical College and his parents informed.

It was only when a messenger rushed to inform his wife that the blood soaked bodies of the mother and son were found.

Sanjeev later admitted to killing his wife and son, whose bodies have been sent for post mortem.

Sheela was teaching at St George's College here while Sanjeev had been without work for a long time. The couple got married in January 1999, but it was just two years later in 2001 that Sheela moved the court for divorce because the relationship was not working and he beat her regularly.
