[RxPG] Shimla, Feb 15 - The sun made an appearance here Thursday after five days, but only just as dark snow laden clouds gathered soon after, threatening more wet weather in the town freezing at minus 0.6 degrees Celsius.
The weather office has forecast more snow in the next 24 hours across the hill state. Many roads in this state capital continue to be under snow after the heaviest snowfall in a single day in February in the past 17 years.
The stream of tourists to this hill town is on the rise with the Kalka-Shimla highway open. However, traffic beyond Shimla on the high Hindustan Tibet Road passing through the resorts of Kufri and Narkanda is yet to restored due to heavy snowfall.
Most roads in Shimla and Kinnaur districts and parts of Sirmaur district continue to be blocked for the sixth consecutive day, paralysing life. Many of these areas are without electricity due to the snowfall snapping power lines.
