[RxPG] Dubai, Nov 20 (IANS) Former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath has been appointed match referee for the New Zealand-Sri Lanka series starting Dec 7, it was announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) here Monday.

Srinath, who made his debut as match referee during the two-Test Sri Lanka-South Africa series in July, will be the referee for the two Test matches and five one-day internationals in New Zealand.

Simon Taufel of Australia and South Africa's Brian Jerling will be the on-field umpires for both Tests. The first Test starts in Christchurch Dec 7 and the second in Wellington Dec 15.

Australian umpire Steve Davis will be officiating in all the five one-dayers that start Dec 28. The host board will appoint the second umpire for the matches.

The ICC also announced the names of the match referees and umpires for the upcoming series in South Africa and Bangladesh as well.

A six-match triangular series involving Canada, Bermuda and the Netherlands, all ICC second-rung countries, will take place Nov 26-Dec 2 in South Africa and will be overseen by South African Mike Procter.

Zimbabwe's Kevan Barbour and Namibia's Jeff Luck will be the umpires in the first three matches and Russell Tiffin of Zimbabwe and Subhash Modi of Kenya will stand in the remaining three one dayers.

Chief ICC match referee Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka will officiate Bangladesh's five home one-dayers against Zimbabwe starting Nov 30.

India's Suresh Shastri and Nadeem Ghauri of Pakistan will take turns to stand in those matches with the other umpire in each game being appointed by the host country.

Later in December, Bangladesh will again play two one dayers against Scotland, in Chittagong and Fatullah, with Procter overseeing both. Ghauri has been appointed for both games while the host board will appoint the other on-field official.
