[RxPG] New Delhi, Nov 25 - Ace full back Dilip Tirkey will lead the Indian men's hockey team in the Asian Games in Doha next month, the Indian Hockey Federation said here Saturday.
India, winners in the 1966 and 1998 games and runners-up in 2002 in Busan, are clubbed with Bangladesh, China, Oman and defending champions South Korea in Group B.
India play their opening match against a weak Bangladesh Dec 4.
Group A comprises seven-time champions Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong.
In 2002, Pakistan failed to win a medal for the first time since the game was included in 1958. They lost the bronze medal to Malaysia.
