[RxPG] Kathmandu, May 15 - Nepal is all set to have a new cricket academy as the foundation stone for the National Cricket Academy was laid at Mulpani here, it was reported by the local media Tuesday.
The Chief Executive Officer of Asian Cricket Council - Syed Ashraful Haq and member secretary of the National Sports Council - Jeevan Ram Shrestha laid the foundation stone of the academy Monday.
NSC had provided the land five years ago to build the academy but initially it was scraped by the ACC.
Speaking at a press meet, Haq assured that ACC would assist Nepal in its endeavour to construct the academy.
'Nepal had come a long way ahead and it's possible that Nepal could end up some day playing World Cup,' said Haq.
NSC member secretary Shrestha said that Nepal has achieved a lot in cricket during the last few years.
'The academy will certainly encourage the cricket enthusiasts to play better,' he said.
