[RxPG] Kolkata, May 5 - An R.P. Singh bouncer left Indian cricket skipper Rahul Dravid bleeding from his nose Saturday at a practice session here ahead of the Bangladesh tour. He was given sedatives and sent to his hotel for rest.

Dravid almost collapsed on the Eden Gardens ground in pain. He left the field helped by others, his faced covered with a towel.

'His injury is not too serious but he bled from the nose. He has been advised rest by ENT expert Debasish Sanyal,' Cricket Association of Bengal - president Prasun Mukherjee told IANS.

'A medical unit examined Dravid immediately. An X-Ray was done. Sanyal said it wasn't too serious an injury but said Dravid needed immediate rest,' Mukherjee said.

Rahul could not escape the ferocity of the delivery despite wearing a helmet as the ball jabbed into the cage and hit his nose.

Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar sustained injury in his right ankle during the practice session May 2, the first day of the camp. He was hurt while trying to negotiate a delivery from pacer S. Sreesanth.

The five-day conditioning camp of Team India to warm up for the Bangladesh tour thus began Wednesday on a discordant note.

On the first day, V.V.S Laxman did not turn up due to gastroenteritis. Wasim Jaffer too apparently hurt his left hand during batting at the nets.

Rookie keeper Dinesh Kaarthik is also away on account of his marriage.

The conditioning camp is being conducted under the scrutiny of newly hired team manager Ravi Shastri.
