[RxPG] New Delhi, April 6 - Budding soccer players in Jammu and Kashmir will now have the privilege of learning the game under the tutelage of former Brazilian star Jaun Marcos Troia.

Marcos arrived in the Kashmir Valley Wednesday for a training camp being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association -. The camp, to be inaugurated on April 11 at Kashmir's only football field, the Polo Ground, has started attracting huge response from the football lovers.

'Around 150 young participants have already registered for the event and we are expecting numbers to cross the 250 mark,' Bashir Ahmed Malik, general secretary of JKFA, told IANS on telephone from Srinagar.

The training camp would be held in phased manners in different districts of Kashmir valley before moving to Jammu.

Marcos will train budding football players from the 8-15 age group with tips to master classic Brazilian skills and fluidity needed to manoeuvre the ball in the field.

'We have wonderful football talent in Kashmir but lack exposure and proper coaching,' Bashir said.

Football has been a popular sport in Kashmir but has given way to fondness for cricket.

Marcos is presently director of International Sports Academy Trust. This is his second trip to the Kashmir valley since November last year. As he sees it, the weather in the valley is perfect for playing the game.
