[RxPG] Ghaziabad, Dec 2 - A court here Saturday remanded 'spiritual guru' Baba Balnath, arrested for the alleged sexual exploitation of girls in his orphanage, to 14 days judicial custody.

Three girls of the orphanage in Ghaziabad, in the outskirts of the national capital, had alleged before a TV news channel they were sexually exploited by Balnath.

The National Commission for Women said the charges were true.

Forty-seven girls, six of whom were over 18, were medically examined and three found to have been sexually abused.

After the expose, Balnath was arrested and the girls rescued Friday evening. He was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate H. Bhatnagar on Saturday.

Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Mordia told reporters that Balnath was charged under sections 354 -, 376 - and 504 - of the Indian Penal Code.

Balnath's followers of shouted slogans and even hurled stones as their leader was taken to the Dasna district jail.

The district administration has directed the orphanage premises to be sealed.
