Dharamsala, Aug 29 - Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama is not unwell and will participate in the 12-hour long fasting and prayer service to be observed by Tibetans and their supporters across the world Aug 30, the Tibetan government-in-exile said in a statement issued here Friday.
'The Dalai Lama has undergone some medical tests in Mumbai. Doctors attending on him have given assurances that there is absolutely no cause for concern. All that he needs is a good rest,' the statement said.
'He will, therefore, join from Mumbai in the fasting and prayers for peace and freedom that are being organised by the Tibetan Solidarity Committee,' it added.
The Nobel laureate Thursday reached Mumbai for undergoing medical tests at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre.
The Dalai Lama has lived in India since fleeing his homeland in 1959. His government-in-exile, which is not recognised by any country, is based in this Himachal Pradesh town.
