Apollo Hospital offers senior citizens only OPD

Jun 16, 2013 - 3:42:32 PM

Noida, June 16 - An exclusive OPD service, complimentary pick up and drop facility and discounted consultation fee are among the latest offerings for senior citizens by the Apollo Hospital, Noida, an official said Sunday.

We recognise the growing need for specialised health care for senior citizens. In order to facilitate easy access to its Out-Patient Department -, the hospital would provide them complimentary pick and drop facility within a radius of five km with pre-scheduled appointments, the hospital official said at an event here.

In addition, discounted consultation, diagnostic and in-patient service are also being offered, the official added.

According to Apollo, the new initiative would ensure that the senior citizens are minimally dependent on others in accessing prompt and quality medical attention.

There is a fairly large population of senior citizens in the district. It is overwhelming to see such initiatives which shall cater to the healthcare needs of elderly, said Noida district magistrate Kumar Ravi Kant, who was the guest of honour at the event.

A.K. Singhal, vice-president of Apollo, said: The facility was a culmination of the hospital's concerted efforts towards improving the overall health and well-being of senior citizens.
